We got this toy as a one year birthday present for my twin sons. They love this toy and have used for much more than just putting the shapes into the jar. My sons love to take the lid to the cookie jar and tap it on things around the house to hear the loud noise it makes. They also love to just carry the jar or the lid around the house and put it in different places and then go back and act like they found something. The sounds and voice on this toy are great it really does feel like its magical. Like most toys the sounds will stop playing own it’s own so you don’t have to turn it on and off. When you put things in it, on top of it or when my sons even touch it, it will say something or play music. The one thing I have to say is with my sons (14 months old) have a hard time fitting the shapes into the side of the jar on their own. They have no problem putting things in from the top but the shapes on the side require a perfect fit to get them in. we have had this toy for about two months and it still gets played with from time to time but not as much as when we first got it.
