I got this for my sons at about 11 months old and still love it to this day at 14 months old. I’m not sure what they love more about this drawing toy, dragging it around the house by the string or actually scribbling with it. My sons picked up on how it works pretty quick, after I showed them a couple times they started scribbling on their own. They haven’t been able to figure out who to wipe the drawings clear and start over but they don’t mind they just scribble away. We also use it as a way to teach them things like the alphabet, numbers, words and shapes. We sit down with them and draw something and then tell them what it is and then let them try to draw it, it’s quite entertaining to watch. Like most the toys around our hose my sons like to pick it up by the string and drop it on the hardwood floors to hear the loud noise it makes. With this being said its a tough little toy, because its been slammed all over our house and still works like a charm. I wish the string was a little longer because when you hold it certain directions its hard to draw on certain parts of it. It would also be cool if both sides of the pen actually drew because my boys can’t figure out at this age which side to use and they sometimes scribble and nothing happens.
